You might try rubbing baking soda into the carpet fibers, and letting it sit for a day or two, then vacuuming it up. If that doesn’t help, guess you will have to opt for new carpeting.

I rented the rug doctor today and after spending 5 hours going over and over it again the water is still coming up black. The carpet looks cleaner but does this mean its still dirty to keep cleaning. or is it just how the water comes through the machine, I just dont know when im done cleaning them. Any tips ??

A Rug Doctor is not a heavy duty machine that professional carpet cleaners use. If you want to get your rugs as clean as they can be, you need to hire a professional carpet cleanerand they should be able to complete the job within an hour or two.

Is it a good time to open carpet cleaning business?I am worried as the recession stops many things….I am about to buy complete equipment,chemicals and van.Also a few customers.I am happy to put leaflets and talk to people but still afraid..There are carpet cleaners around but i believe i find my space too.Can someone give an advice?
