how can i remove urine smell from carpet I have used a rental carpet cleaner with odor remover but no help..?

My dog seems to always urinate in our living room/dining room where our former dogs always seemed to do the same thing – I cannot get rid of the odor – short of removing the carpet any solutions someone told me coffee grinds???? It’s the entire carpet not just one spot…

You might try rubbing baking soda into the carpet fibers, and letting it sit for a day or two, then vacuuming it up. If that doesn’t help, guess you will have to opt for new carpeting.

If the water is still black/brown after cleaning my carpet for hours is it still dirty ?

I rented the rug doctor today and after spending 5 hours going over and over it again the water is still coming up black. The carpet looks cleaner but does this mean its still dirty to keep cleaning. or is it just how the water comes through the machine, I just dont know when im done cleaning them. Any tips ??

what is the best method to cleaning up wee on the carpet?

I’ve just started toilet training my 2 yr old, and i’d like to know what the best product is for cleaning up his accidents on the carpet. i live in australia so the product needs to be available here. i’ve just been soaking it up, rubbing it with some multi purpose cleaner and then spraying it with glen 20… but i don’t feel like i’m doing a very good job. its cream carpet in a rental so i’m a little worried!

I agree with the vinegar solution. I make my own spray by putting 1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water in a spray bottle. Soak up as much as you can and then spray the vinegar and soak that up and lightly rub. Good luck!
